Overview
Velaa Private Island is a super-luxury boutique hideaway in Noonu Atoll, a 45 minute sea-plane ride from Velana International Airport.The resort is widely recognised as having taken Maldivian luxury to a whole new level.
There are 43 private villas, houses and residences and two four-bedroom residences, all with private pools and exceptional interior design. 17 of which are over-water with the Romantic Pool Residence only reached by boat. The larger villas feature separate living rooms, with the houses offering two-bedrooms and ideal for families. The large Velaa Pri-vate Residence features four bedrooms.
The cuisine at Velaa Island is a major USP, with three exceptional restaurants. The Athiri and Avi Bar provides all-day beach-front dining and provides a range of dishes from wood-fired pizzas to fresh salads. Tavaru is located in Velaa Island's own tower at the centre of the island, and has a Teppanyaki kitchen where live cooking and a fantastic wine list take centre stage. The Arahu & Cru Bar is Velaa Private Islands signature restaurant where guests sip vintage champagne before being wowed by mouth watering Michelin quali-ty fine-dining.
Velaa Private Island does not hold back on the facilities and the experiences it provides. There is a superb spa, run by Clarins. There is the Maldives first snow room, and some so-phisticated treatments that are at the cutting edge of wellness treatments.

These detached one-bedroom beach front villas are sumptuously furnished. Mahogany louvered panels and intricate lofty ceilings impart a colonial feel, while teak furniture and suspended bamboo lights bring nature indoors. Wall to wall glass doors frame the terrace and private pool. By day the villas are filled with light, yet remain secluded by clusters of palms. An indoor bathroom with Romeo and Juliet basins opens onto a large outdoor bathroom connected by a garden atrium where a gazebo covered daybed overlooks the oversized tub. Day beds, swinging chairs and an alfresco dining area face the Indian Ocean.
